QUICK UPDATES !
1) Please do not pick-up for any reason during your round to avoid a DQ from the over-all tourney and that day of tourney! You are still eligible for skins of course. I can assure you that everyone is going to have those big holes or that one sad round also. This tourney is a four day grind, so don’t quit on yourself.
2) This yr’s Purse - 28 players x $200.00 tourney entry = $5,600.00 – 100% pay-out
3) Mr. Hank Hornsveld is our tourneys 28th player to round-out the seven complete foursomes.
4) Mr. Joe Dean will replace Mr. Mike Bellman
5) My brother Mr. Scott Jacobs will arrive Thursday night thru Sun. morn to participate in the fun and banter. Scott will donate to the putting and card game contest held @ Conestoga on Friday at noon, he will also donate to Mr. Cassidy’s Texas Hold’em game. My brother has paid for his share of hospitality room and for his own room, so there will be NO SLEEP-OVERS on the hospitality couches this year I expect. PLEASE !
6) Please HELP keep HOSPITALITY room maintained, and if you are the last guy to leave the room make sure doors are locked and the light are OUT! You ALL paid for this room and the content. The hospitality room is your room too !
7) Our First tee-time to kick-off our Mesquite Net Championship has been moved back 20 minutes, our first tee-time is now @ 11:20 am Wed. Oct. 6th 2010. This will help accommodate those arriving on Wed. AM.
8) I apologize for the weather in Mesquite and St. George , current 10-day forecast has daily temps in the lower to mid 80’s next week. There is a 30% chance of a brief shower event or two. So bring that Sun Mountain waterproof wind-breaker in case. See the attached for exact golf weather info.
9) Dress attire in Mesquite for those that are NEW to this tourney – Whatever you want ! The nights can cool-down so bring a pull-over in case.
10) I recommend flip-flops - shorts - several t-shirts- asst golf shirts & shoes- bathing suit- 8 days of clean underwear.
11) The dinning can be nice ( Katherines Steak House / The WOLF, and to the buffet level ) depending on your tastes, and there is no real restriction on dress as long as you pay the bill in Mesquite.
12) Lower your blood-pressure and enjoy Mesquite when you arrive, reality will be waiting when you get back home. I can’t wait to enjoy my golf vacation, and spend some time with all of YOU once again !
13) If you need me for any reason my cell # is 951-704-2070 , I will do my best. I leave Sunday @ 1:30 pm for Mesquite to start my VACATION, just after the Cleveland Browns win the Battle of Ohio, and Euro’s WIN the RYDER Cup ! J
Thanks ! tj

Please note we NOW have 28 players or 7 complete foursomes, and this yr's purse is $5,200.00 in total, 28 players x $200.00 mandatory entry = $5,600.00 ) !
Message from Mr. Eric Wendt below :
To all players:
I will need to get the MANDATORY $200 entry fee prior to Wednesdays tee off @ Falcon Ridge, this could be done by mailing a check payable to Eric Wendt @ P.O. Box 2201, Fallbrook, Ca 92088 (must be mailed before September 26, 2010) or give cash to me on Tuesday before the Tourney in the Hospitality room @ Casa Blanca, (my favorite option) or I would need to collect on the 1st tee @ Falcon Ridge before you tee off, this is my least favorite option as I will be attempting to visualize hitting a high draw down the #1 fairway.
100% of above mandatory net Tourney entry fee paid-out to 25% of the field each day and total.
Tourney Purse Breakdown :
Players attending = 28 - PLAYERS or 7 complete foursomes ..

Tourney Rules !
Mesquite 2010 Golf Tournament Rules
Date: October 6th-Oct. 9th 2010-4 Day Net Tourney
Tourney Rules, Purse Breakdown, & Tie-Breakers :
1.) There will be OB’s in play this year, we all no how to play an OB, if you think you went OB then hit another ball (provisional) as nearly as possible at the spot in which the original ball was last played under a penalty of 1 stroke, if you find your original ball inbounds then you must play that ball with no penalty. We DO NOT want to hold up the course so if there is a chance you may have crossed the OB stakes then hit a provisional, the last thing we want is to have to go back to the tee box or ? to hit another ball ( fyi – there are very few OB’s that even come into play or exist at these courses ).
2.) Please do not pick-up on any hole or you will have automatically DQ’d yourself from that days total score and overall 4 day total ! You are still eligible for net skins.
3.) Lost balls in any sand trap, heavy ruff, or if abnormal ground conditions ( mud, soft area ) exist where ball was thought to have landed and majority of group members agree, please drop a ball at the agreed landing area with 1 stroke penalty, no loss in distance. Speed of Play issue again.
4.) Any ball off course, hit into the desert, or inside any Red stakes is deemed in a hazard, but can be played if you choose. You can not ground your club, or remove or lift any objects including man made. You may also choose to pick the ball up with a 1 stroke penalty, and drop at nearest pt. where ball last covered golf course grass.
5.) If your ball did not cover grass from any point and ends up in the desert you should drop and hit another ball at that original hitting area. If you find your original ball you may proceed to play it from desert as a ball in hazard and then pick-up the provisional ball.
6.) Blue tees and Summer rules in effect unless conditions dictate otherwise, we will let everyone know before we tee-off if necessary.
7.) Gimmies- Any putt with-in the tape mark on your putter is good, if your ball is not touching the tape then you need to putt out. Bill Bright will be marking all putters on the first tee @ Falcon Ridge.
8.) Ball in environmental area / green stake hazard can not be retrieved, ball must be dropped and played from point of entry where ball last covered golf course grass, or 2 clubs from line of green boundary stakes and with a one shot penalty.
9.) 14 club rule in effect each day – Please!
10.) Speed of Play - We play ready golf at the tee-box, please do not stand around trying to figure out who has honors at the tee, hit the ball
11.) Any rules issues will be settled at the course with the PGA staff on hand, if you have any question play two balls and move on. We will make every attempt not to settle any disputes in the HOSPITAITY rooms after a few beverages of choice !
12.) IF there is still an issue because there is no PGA MEMBER staff at course there will be an established 3-man committee who will decide this issue and that will be FINAL.
13.) That 3-man rules committee will consist of Mr. Cassidy, Mr. Crouse, and Mr. Michels .
Tourney Purse Breakdown :
Players attending = 28 - PLAYERS or 7 complete foursomes ..
The usual $200.00 Mandatory tourney entry = $5,600 total purse
$800.00 or 25% of field paid each day & total = 7 spots paid per day & total ( $225 , $175 , $150, $100, $75, $50, $25 ).
$400.00 in full ½ hdcp net skins- No skins get carried -over to next day.
$800.00 or 25% of the field paid for the total Tourney low nets ($225, $175, $150, $100, $75, $50, $25)
Once that nights scores are posted and we start the distro of funds for that days results the scores are final.
The individuals doing the scoring are donating their own time. If you can’t take the time to stop by and see if your scores were posted properly, or you think you earned a skin, or placed in the hunt for that day that is your issue, and we would call that the “rub of the green” once we have paid .
Sorry!!!! We are human and we make mistakes, but not very often.
End of Story !
No one is going to get rich here. Our goal is to spread the wealth !
Your best chance to get rich is in the casino, at Mr. Cassidy’s Texas Hold’em game, or foul ball bets.
So PLEASE have fun relax and enjoy the weather, vistas, golf, old / new friendships and let the chips fall where they may, and lower the pressure. J
Tourney Tie-breakers:
All net score tie-breakers for the tourney each day and total will be busted beginning with front nine low net, back nine low net, then #1 hdcp, # 2 hdcp and so on and so.. as we have done over the years.
First place net tie and gross will be broke at The Wolf in a playoff beginning where the golf course management dictates, I will push for #1 and # 9 if needed.
If the golf course will not allow this playoff we will go to the above tie-breaker method with the exception that the beginning tie-breaker starts with your net total score at The Wolf, and then we will move to Wolf front, back, and #1 hdcp hole and so on.
Play the Wolf safe and never give up, there are holes here that will eat everyone’s lunch…
Good Luck !
